Subject :Accolade did Stay or not

Race of Accolade.

As the rule says pedigree is the ultimate proof of a horse staying ability and going blindly by the bloodlines does sometime make a fool out of one blindly following it.

In recent past we had ample of examples where pure Milers via pedigree have notched out 2400 m winners.
Coming to Accolade. In December month the colt was given close to 15 tracks and sometimes even back to back ones. This perhaps made the horse a bit too tired as he is not a big built colt.

Secondly his timing of 2.30 minutes is better than what Xisca won for Pesi some time back in kolkata. Definitely we cant compare both the races as the pace was different but the point is that its definitely unfair to Say that Accolade Dint stay the Trip.

He did stay in my opinion but was too tired to give a fight and will only mature going further. Perhaps an educational one to see how the colt responds to travel a mile and quarter.
One must also not forget that the kolkata track does not suit many..

Last and most importantly.. He was a bit restless going inside the stalls and this could be the ultimate point where he dint enjoy the newly put "Basket Bit".. Every horse has some cozy way of running a race and certainly Accolade dint enjoy that day.

Conclusion.. We see a different Accolade if he chooses to run in Indian Derby day on his favorite mahalaxmi track. I am sure Pesi being astute Trainer knows the best.

He proved that's he's just a better horse than class 3 Vulcan that's all. Staying is out of question too.

@ZUBIN, wishful thinking... in case of they meet again in Indian Derby, the result will be the same. Desert God won Kolkatta Derby and went on winning India Derby. Dont be surprised if history repeats itself.

Accolade did not stay at all. Winning 2000 mts of the Pune derby beating a donkey field does not indicate that he is a stayer and will stay longer trips. I am a big fan of the horse and have always played him and won except last Sunday. No hard luck stories, he did not stay and I can safely say he will not finish on board in the Indian Derby if he decides to run.

Your theory of excessive workout, basket bit not suiting the horse etc. may be true. Fact remains he is an immature office and has always been problematic. Infact with the Basket Bit for the first time in his career he ran straight without hanging and he lost! He has always mostly been restless at the gates. This time he has been the best behaved in his career in the paddock and at the gates. So reasons and excused for the horses loss can be many, fact is he did not stay. The Mumbai Derby pace will be as fast if not faster and the timing will be similar. How will he keep up with more horse like Serjeant at arms and Ice Glacier, besides the filly who beat him in Kolkata? No chance

First why do we turn a blind eye to facts and just keep on our so called poor choice.

Pessi has many better horses and I have my doubt he will even be entered.

Cal was a poor lot not so in MUM. To lose to 2 filles shows his real worth.

Derby will be fought between Pessi [ not with this horse] Malesh and CD.

Let see first see HYD and BNG derbies.

Of course Accolade stayed. Stayed behind other two. Beaten blue and tired.
